JaSim® is an educational software designed to provide an engineering quality range of dynamic process models specifically for education and training.  This includes control theory, plant models, pid control, 3 term control and control simulation.  Our software can be delivered online or networked and provided at low cost.  For further information on the range of models, please see our Model Range pages.

JaSim is ideal for training students in process control and familiarising them with key plant and equipment.  Dynamic simulation allows students to see the physical effects of their changes and trend monitoring allows trainers to monitor, review and feedback easily on students progress.  For example, 3 term control is easily demonstrated in our JaSim model J1010. Using a simple level control loop this model can be used to develop an understanding of each of the components of the PID controller, the proportional, integral and derivative terms. By allowing a variable feed to the level controlled system it is then possible to tune the response of this controller to various conditions, this is explained in a set of assignments contained within the model.

Dynamic simulation is acknowledged as the fastest and most memorable way to learn process plant and control. Our models cover the basic underpinning knowledge for key plant and equipment and help establish a firm foundation for future training.

For plant-specific training, TSC also offer a wide range of bespoke and generic PC based simulation training software including Advanced Training and Assessment and Virtual Reality Control Rooms.  Please visit the TSC website for further details.

JaSim® is the result of a £250,000 development that was supported by a SMART Award from the UK Government to provide a new range of dynamic process models specifically designed as process control training software, teaching the principles of process control to students, plant operators and chemical engineering graduates.
