JaSim is one of a number of software solutions for training brought to you by Technical Simulation Consultants Limited.  For the latest TSC Newsletter, please click here.

TSC are keen to help companies we work with bridge the skills gap and as such we write articles, white papers, hold forums etc to help ensure dissemination of important information.  Our successful Innovations in Training for the Oil and gas Industry Forum held in December 2007 at CATCH in Humberside was very well received and we are already receiving interest following our article in The Chemical Engineer.  Although not available online yet, you can request a hard copy of TCE from their website at www.tcetoday.com.

Latest News:

  • TSC has supplied several interactive training modules, including video and simulation elements, to the GlaxoSmithKline facility at it’s Dartford site in the UK since 2003.

GSK has recently installed a new DCS (Distributed Control System) for which TSC have designed a new set of 4 CBT (Computer Based Training) packages to add to the previous library. The new modules introduce the concept of the S88 batch control philosophy within the

new DCS. The series of interactive training units are designed to build up the operator’s familiarity and confidence with the new DCS, which is used to control a new drug manufacturing line. The training material is aimed at allowing the operators to work at their own pace and without supervision. At the end of each course, certificates of achievement are produced for operators who have successfully completed that module.

TSC has now made eleven training packages, including video and emulated plant simulations, for GSK since 2003.  We are looking forward to continuing to work with GSK on further modules in the

    near future.

  • The first forum on Innovations in the Oil and Gas Industry was held on December 3rd and 4th 2007 in the UK.  The 2 day forum was held at CATCH, the newly opened Centre for the Assessment of Technical  Competence in Humberside, costing over 8M Euros.
This high profile, invitation only event, attracted attendees from all over the world including Libya, Abu Dhabi, Nigeria, and Venezuela and companies such as BP, Exxon Mobil, Murphy Oil and the American Petroleum Institute.
  • CATCH Training Facility in Humberside.  The Centre for Assessment of Technical Competance has been created to satisfy the practical requirements of training and assessment for the 14 or more large chemical establishments on Humberside in the UK.  TSC has supplied the computers and simulation software for a Virtual Reality Control Room, which is being operated by TTE under their ProSimmTM banner.

  • ESD Simulation Trainng have just been supplied with a high fidelity simulation of an offshire Oil and Gas Platform.  ESD, based in Aberdeen, Scotland, Calgary in Canada and Perth in Western Australia, have named their new system 'Pearl' and we wish them all success with this new addition to their training porfolio.

  • Caspian Technical Training Centre, Baku.  The CTTC, which is situated alongside the Sangachal Oil and Gas terminal near Baku in Azerbaijan, is equipped with a wide range of TSC simulation models.  These include a 10 station classroom suite of 22 basic plant models, as well as control room style simulators of the Central Azeri and Sangachal terminal processes.
